It is a great place for camping, hiking, and boating. Jackson Zoo: Established in 1919, the Jackson Zoo is the second-largest zoo in the state. It is located in Jackson, Mississippi. The zoo has over 120 species and nearly 800 individual animals from all over the world. It is one of the most-visited places in the state and draws over 200,000 visitors annually from Mississippi and surrounding states. Black Bears, Mountain Lions, and rattlesnakes are the most prominent animals in the zoo.
